Ever wonder why when you look up at the night
sky the moon does not always look the same?
Students explore this topic in this exclusive lab
activity. This kit uses a combination of teacherdirected
lessons and student activities to help
students understand the motions of the Moon
and how to interpret them. Primarily, students
will employ framework concepts of Earth’s
Place in the Universe (ESS1) to learn about the
phases of the Moon, as well as the difference
between a lunar (synodic) month and a sidereal
month.
