For demonstrating the chemical composition of water by volume, using electrolysis. The electrolysis of acidified water causes the components of water to collect as Hydrogen and Oxygen, in separate tubes, in the ratio of 2:1 approximately.The graduated, precision bore borosilicate glass tubing, with interchangeable glass keys, allows the user to measure the volume of each gas produced. Supplied as GLASSWARE ONLY. Platinum or Carbon electrodes are available seperately, as is a safety clamp. The Platimum electrodes use Platinum wire and foil to offer the maximum surface area. Both types of electrode come mounted in rubber bungs.
